It was a true privilege to represent our Foundation (TTF) in a heartfelt conversation with Octavia Salmon, one of our bursary recipients, as she shared how the support has impacted her journey.

She shared her inspiring educational journey with God and her self-motivated commitment to “Not Giving Up”!

The support from Thompson & Troupe Foundation (TTF) enabled her to complete her high school studies at the Glemuir High School in Clarendon, Jamaica, an achievement she credits as life-changing.

Octavia expressed deep gratitude for the organisation’s role in helping her overcome financial barriers and stay focused on her academic goals.

Her dedication and perseverance have now earned her a prestigious scholarship to study nursing at Howard University, beginning in September 2025. Octavia spoke passionately about her commitment to making a difference for her mother, who had undoubtedly sacrificed her all to provide for her and her siblings, additionally in the healthcare field, and her desire to give back to communities in need, in the same way she was.
