what we do

School Uniforms

Research shows that the attitude surrounding the importance of children having the correct school uniform does makes a significant contribution to their learning.

89% of teachers believe smart and correct uniforms play a key role in reducing bullying in schools and help the children’s concentration in class.

95% say it helps the children to “fit in” whilst 94% of parents (and the local community) alike, believe it gives the children a sense of pride.

Public schools in Jamaica require their students to wear approved uniforms. Each year parents struggle financially to provide uniforms for their children.

The Thompson & Troupe Foundation helps families in need to purchase school uniform materials, at no cost.

School Supplies

School supplies are a necessity. Statistics show that when students are equipped with the right tools, their attendance, grades, creativity, attitude towards learning, behavior and zest for knowledge improves exponentially.

The Thompson & Troupe Foundation provides students with backpacks filled with school stationery and personal hygiene products each year.

School Fees

Fees in Jamaica are determined by each school administration and affordability is an issue for some families.

For a low-income family with more than one child attending high school, the financial struggle is greater.

The organization is ensuring that students’ education is not disrupted because of financial obstacles.

Applicants will be considered when a completed registration form has been received.
